June Brain Health Tip: Easy Ways to Remember Names with Confidence

Two hands in a firm handshake symbolizing agreement and collaboration.

We’ve all been there—you meet someone wonderful, and moments later, their name slips away. The good news? There are simple brain health strategies that can help.

In our MasterMinds and Mind Boosters classes, we teach the Repetition Strategy to help improve memory. The idea is simple: use the person’s name right away and often. For example:

“Hi Jennifer, I’m (your name). It’s so nice to meet you.”

Then : “Have you met my friend? (Name), this is Jennifer.”

You can reinforce it again by reversing the introduction:

“Jennifer, this is my friend (name).”

At the end of your conversation, say goodbye using their name:

“It was so nice to meet you, Jennifer.”

Each time you repeat their name, you’re helping your brain make a stronger connection.

Another helpful tip: try visualizing their name written across their forehead. This playful technique can help link their name with their face.

Give it a try next time you meet someone new!
