Cheers echoed down a bright red runway as “supermodels” of all ages and abilities made their way forward—some walking, some dancing, some rolling, and others shuffling—each step met with applause, laughter, and even tears of joy.
The bi-annual Fashion Show at Providence PACE and Adult Day Health Napa Valley was more than a festive gathering—it was a living expression of how community-based care transforms lives. The event highlighted not only the comprehensive wraparound services of PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly), but also the essential role of Providence Adult Day Health Napa Valley as both a cornerstone of PACE and a vital, stand-alone program serving older adults and families across the Napa community.
Hosted by Providence Community Health Napa Valley, the celebration brought together PACE participants, Adult Day Health attendees, their families, staff, volunteers, and board members. What unfolded was not a traditional fashion show, but a deeply human tribute to dignity, resilience, and the measurable health benefits of connection.
The Runway as Therapy
Behind the joy and applause was months of thoughtful preparation grounded in clinical care and therapeutic practice. Participants from both PACE and Adult Day Health engaged in individualized planning, working alongside staff to build strength, mobility, and confidence for their runway moment.
Chaperones—volunteers and staff—walked side by side with participants, offering encouragement and support. For many, the runway became a stage not only for self-expression, but also for meaningful functional progress.
