We are delighted to announce that Foundation board member, Will Marcencia has assumed the role of Board President.
Will, a Southern California native, started his career in the banking industry after graduating from Loyola Marymount University’s business school. It wasn’t long before he realized that banking was not his passion and shifted his career aspirations to media and entertainment. Taking a position with Univision Communication’s Advertising Sales Team, he continued to grow with the company and moved to, new at the time, the Content Distribution Division. It was at Univision, where he met his wife, Julissa.
After years garnering experience at Univision, Will and Julissa decided to create their own legacy in the media and entertainment world—resigning their corporate jobs at Univision, eloping abroad, blending their last names, and starting their entrepreneurial journey with Wine Down Media.
Wine Down Media is a multi-platform media company based in Napa, with flagship radio stations, English-language KVYN “The Vine" and Spanish-language KVON “MegaMix," with the mission to deliver entertainment, information, and empowerment to the Napa Valley. In addition, in 2023, they organized the first cross-cultural, cross-genre Latin music festival, Sabor+Ritmo.
In addition to proudly serving as President of our Foundation Board, Will is also on the Boards of di Rosa Center for Contemporary Art and the Napa County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of the Napa Sunrise Rotary Club, former member of Napa Valley Community Foundation’s Community Programs & Grants Committee, former Board Member of Friends of Napa County Animal Shelter, alumni of Leadership Napa Valley, and a graduate of Stanford University’s Entrepreneurship Business Scaling program.
Will is a recipient of the North Bay Business Journal’s Latino Business Leadership Award, the Harvesting Pride Award given by the Napa County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and received special recognition through the “Neighbors Helping Neighbors’” program of Napa County.
During his corporate career, Will was distinguished as an “Overachiever Under 30” by Cablefax. In addition, Wine Down Media has been named the Small Business of the Year in Napa County by Senator Bill Dodd and the recipient of the Center for Volunteer & Nonprofit Leadership’s Corporate Community Service award.
Will lives in Napa with his wife and business partner, Julissa, and their two children: four-legged fur baby, Champagne, and their daughter, Livvy Rose. Will enjoys talking about movies, music events, and his family, including his two 90-year-old grandmothers.
