The Stages of Dementia: A Spiritual Reflection Series for Care Partners

A seminar series to understand the three main stages of dementia; what to expect; how to respond; and how to communicate and care for the person effectively, followed by a self-care seminar. Designed for community caregivers, friends, and family members.

Location: Yountville Parks & Recreation Center, 6516 Washington St, Yountville
Thursdays from 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Dementia is often described in clinical stages, but caregiving is also a deeply human and spiritual
experience.

This four-part series explores the inner landscape of the dementia journey through three sacred
movements: anticipatory grief, connection &partnership, and growth & transformation.

We begin by learning what dementia is and how it affects the brain, then gently name the reality of
anticipatory grief and the many losses caregivers face.

From there, we turn toward partnership—remembering we are not alone and reconnecting with sources of support such as spirituality, faith, community, and nature.

Finally, we explore growth, not by denying hardship, but by meeting it with deeper presence, meaning, and compassion.

Through reflection, gentle practices, and shared conversation, this series offers a supportive space—wherever you are on the journey, you are welcome here.
